Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn says Thailand’s common-ticket policy will move forward in phases, with a 200-billion-baht funding model under study and a 17-45 baht fare cap planned as short-term relief for commuters.

The Transport Ministry will ask the Cabinet to approve a new electric train fare structure of 17-45 baht per trip across all lines, with annual subsidies of around 4 billion baht.
